    This ministry was created to ensure that visitors and member alike are greeted with the "joy of Jesus". Sister Linda Whitley, Sister Lillie Glover, Sister Geraldine Chappelle, Sister Carmen Robinson, Sister Tracy Green and other volunteers make sure that when you enter the doors of Evergreen you know you are welcome.
  • Intercessory Prayer Ministry
    Sister Ada Bryant and a team of dedicated members pray without ceasing for the ministry, its members, and the sick and shut-ins. They also pray for the president and leaders of the United States. "Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is." Mark 13:33
  • Jail Ministry
    Pastor Washington, Brother Johnny Burch and Deacon Isaac Dawson started our Jail/Prison Ministry in 1989. They visited the local jails, workhouses and prison facilities conducting prayer meetings and Word study. As a result of their initial efforts, God blessed this ministry with success. Many of those converted were able to stay out of the prison system and get good jobs. God has also used several converts to preach and teach His Holy Word. Past and present members of this Ministry include: Deacon Isaac Dawson, Sister Mary Hall, Minister James (Clint) Glover, Minister Albert Fairley, Missionary Jessie Shannon and Evangelist Martha Nightingale "...I was in prison and ye came unto me." Matthew 25:36

  • New Member Orientation
    Deacons Ed Andrews and Joe Bryant welcome new members in the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church family. These sessions help new converts transition from worldliness to new creations in Christ. Members are also given an overview of the structure of this ministry. "Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against, thee" Psalms 119:11.

    This consecrated group of individuals, visits the sick and shut-in, nursing homes, and prisons to intercede for those needing prayer. They believe in the healing powers of prayer and are steadfast in their faith in God's promise to answer prayers. "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord," James 5:14.
  • Security Ministry
    Brother Terrence Holmes established this ministry to ensure that members on Evergreen's Campus feel safe and secure, no matter the hour. Cyrus Roberts now heads the security ministry.

  • Share-a-Meal Program Ministry
    Evergreen and St. Marys United Methodist Church are working in concert to provide meals to the elderly and handicap living in Kingsland and St. Marys. Sister Carolyn Waye, Sister Aileen Williams, Sister Martha Nightingale, & Sister Gayle Gibbs prepare and other volunteers deliver over 100 meals every Wednesday. "For I was hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink." Matthew 25:35.
